CRUFTS IN NUMBERS

More than 25,000 dogs will be making their way to the NEC in Birmingham for Crufts, which starts on March 7th.

In total 20,566 dogs have been entered into events such as breed judging, Gamekeepers£ classes and the Obedience Championships and there is a record number of dogs flying in from overseas to take part this year - 2,131 to be precise.

The foreign pooches will be coming from 41 different countries to take part in the show, including dogs from Hong Kong, India, Indonesia and Malaysia, none of which have previously been represented at Crufts.

Thousands more dogs will take part in agility events, music performances such as heelwork to dance, flyball and the many other competitions and displays.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club secretary, said: £The Kennel Club and Crufts Committee wish to thank all of those taking part in Crufts 2013 for their support. The fact that dog owners continue to come in their thousands to celebrate their dogs is testament to what a special place Crufts holds."
