A Yorkshire animal charity is appealing for donations to help cover medical costs for an abandoned amputee dog.

Brock developed an infection in the stump of his leg, which had to be amputated after a road accident. But Rain Rescue in Rotherham looked after the sick pooch and took him to the vets where he was given emergency treatment and put on a drip, the Star reports.

Louise Gadsby, who is a volunteer at Rain Rescue, said: £He was shivering, cold, sick and frightened and it was absolutely heartbreaking. Luckily, he is doing a lot better now."

The rescue centre is now asking for donations of any amount, no matter how big or small, to help cover the cost of Brock's ongoing medical care.

It has set up a special appeal for help as the centre believes Brock is unlikely to find a home until he is fit and well.
