Healthy Pets Insurance is following a growing trend in America where, according to a survey by the APPMA Inc. nearly one in five companies allows pets in the workplace. Following a national poll of working Americans over 18, a majority believe there are benefits to having pets at work such as relieving stress, improving relationships with colleagues, making a happier workforce and creating a happier work environment.
In the UK The Blue Cross would also like to see more canine companions in the office and has been running Take Your Dog to Work Day for the past 12 years. A survey of small businesses commissioned by The Blue Cross found that 90% of companies who allowed dogs in the workplace noticed a positive change in the working environment; two-thirds claimed staff morale had lifted; 56% said the pets had improved work relations, and half even noticed a decrease in absences.
