Healthy Pets state of the art offices in Petersfield were designed to be resource efficient and environmentally friendly. The biodiversity of the site is improved through sympathetic ground maintenance; supporting local natural habitats and wildlife. The offices are situated near both bus and railway stations, encouraging employees to use public transport and where possible flexible working hours are offered to help reduce emissions of peak time travel.
In 2007 the Company achieved a Carbon Neutral Certificate, something that has been maintained and upheld for the past 3 years, measuring its carbon footprint with the assistance of Carbon Offset Ltd. Healthy Pets implements an office policy to shred 100% of waste paper, return all printer cartridges and recycle all cardboard. Future plans include the continuation of investing in international projects that will replace the same amount of Carbon Dioxide that is produced, to implement the total use of recycled paper to compliment the current recycling program and build a complete environmentally friendly work ethic.
Mark Effenberg, Chief Executive, says “The whole company is extremely pleased that we have reached the final of these awards for a second time. Whilst we acknowledge that carbon offsetting is not a 'cure' for climate change, it can help raise awareness and reduce the impact of our actions”.
Since 1997, Healthy Pets Insurance has remained independent and specialist choosing to trade on the trust of its policyholders to gain one of the highest renewal rates in the industry.
