Compare Pet Insurance Policies
October 2009
The latest report by Which? on pet insurance showed that whilst the veterinary fees cover is the most important part of a policy, overall there are differences between every policy on the market.
Anyone comparing the various policies should ensure before buying one that they will be adequately covered for each benefit. Some insurers will reduce the cover on essential benefits to reduce the premium and pet owners could find that when they make a claim they did not have sufficient cover.
Comparison websites are ideal for finding the lowest premium to insure your pet but generally they do not compare the cover offered by each insurer.
Mark Effenberg, Chief Executive of Healthy Pets, commented, ‘We carefully select the levels of cover for each benefit in our policies to ensure our customers are not left under insured. We know from our own research that a number of other pet insurers are not doing the same. The Which? report has confirmed this and we hope pet owners will look a bit further when choosing their policy.
Healthy Pets continue to offer three levels of cover, either £1,000, £3,000 or £5,000 per illness, with an excess of only £65 per condition. Ongoing conditions are covered and clients can keep claiming indefinitely for the same illness up to the value of the policy.Unlike many other insurers there are no hidden extras such as higher excesses and percentage contributions towards claims when pets become older.
An independent, dedicated company, Healthy Pets deals only with insuring your pets and one phone call gets straight through to one of the friendly team who are handling your policy. Alternatively there is an interactive website where clients can obtain quotes, email, renew policies, request claim forms and add on extra pets.
