Breed History – Curiously, despite its name, the Tibetan Terrier is not actually a member of the Terrier line of dog groups. Rather it is a name that was bestowed upon the dog by travellers from across Europe when they first saw the breed living in the temples of Tibet hundreds of years ago, where they were employed as guard dogs. In an attempt to save the life of his feline friend, a German cat owner is spending £15,000 to send his cat to America for a life saving kidney transplant operation. It is thought the operation will cost an estimated £7,000 with the rest being spent on travel and medication. (more…)
