Breed History – This ancient Chinese and Tibetan dog is one of the world’s most famous companion breeds. The direct translation of its name means ‘Lion Dog’ in Mandarin. There is some debate as to the country where the dog originated from, and whilst it is known as a Tibetan Lion Dog in some circles, Chinese authorities have outlawed all such references to this in their country.
